Description: National Issues Forum
Washington D.C. May 13 - 15, 2008
The National Issues Forum offers businessmen and women, governmental officials, civic leaders and concerned citizens from around the Upstate an opportunity to build professional networks, connect with the congressional leaders, and gain valuable insights into issues that impact on the well being of their communities.
For the past seven years, the Chambers of Commerce from Easley, Anderson, Pickens, Seneca, Clemson, Laurens, and Greenwood, have worked with the Office of Congressman Gresham Barrett to plan and present this annual three-day Washington experience.
The 2008 Forum will begin early Tuesday evening, May 13, and conclude Thursday afternoon, May 15. While in the Nation’s Capital, trip participants will have the opportunity to learn, connect, and network. Don’t miss out on this great experience.
Who Should Go To Washington?
Businessmen and women, government officials, elected leaders, directors of non-profit and social service agencies and organizations, and concerned citizens will find the Washington Issues Forum to be a good investment.
Dates … Participants will arrive in Washington Tuesday afternoon, May 13 and depart for home the afternoon of Thursday, May 15, 2008.
Accommodations… The group will spend two nights in the Jurys Hotel, one of Washington’s premier hotels, centrally located on DuPont Circle in the heart of the embassy district.
Participants can learn from the forum... Among the most popular features of the yearly Forum are the “issue” presentations held over two days at the historic Library of Congress. Program speakers – many of whom are well known Washington insiders – provide insights about legislative and regulatory issues that are important to the health of businesses and communities in Upstate South Carolina.
Please contact the Seneca Chamber of Commerce at 864-882-2097 if you are interested in attending.
